GCFC v Bayswater - Saturday, 24th July 2010

WHAT A GAME!

Before kickoff Bayswater were on top of the league while Gosnells were mid table. However, Gosnells performance in recent weeks would make this an interesting game.

Gosnells got the game started, but within seconds Bayswater were one nil up.

Ellis and Clacker are stunned....and so were the crowd.

Gosnells started to play some great football and put pressure on Bayswater. This resulted in Gosnells getting the equaliser from Jack Riddell who produced a quality piece of football with a stunning drive from the edge of the box....1-1.

With Gosnells still in control and, as usual, Bayswater get a goal against the run of play.....2-1.

Bayswater gets a corner; they drill the ball in hard in to the box, the striker hits on goal. Adriano pulls off a brilliant save. The back four are playing brilliantly. James and Jordon winning everything in the air.

With Andrew Marshall and Jack Clare working well on the left hand side, and Mitch making some great runs through the middle, the equaliser wasn’t to far away.

Ten minutes to go....accurate ball from Callum to Aaron Coslani, who still had plenty of work to do, but who hit a wonderful, powerful drive all the way along the ground just inside the right hand post from a good 30 yards, beating a diving keeper at full stretch.....2-2.

I thought the players were brilliant! Some of the football was brilliant in periods today and we could have been three up at half time, but to their credit Bayswater made it hard for us.

Gosnells came out early for the second half fighting. Yunus Atak was making it difficult for the Bayswater back four. Gosnells got a corner. They take a short one. Craig passes it to Aaron and drills it in to the box where Yunus heads it in to the goal ..... 3-2 to Gosnells.

With 20mins to play Bayswater has picked up the loose ball in the middle of the park then had a shot on goal that made it.....3-3.

In the closing stages Jack Clare and Scott Pereira both had good chances to win the game for Gosnells. But the Bayswater keeper played well.

Final score.....3-3.

Just like to say to train the way we trained all week, and work out a system of play and get out and produce it like that, and get a good result it’s really pleasing from my point of view

"I'm very pleased with the boys; they did everything I asked of them. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Well done".

GCFC v Fremantle FC- Saturday, 10th July 2010

After winning the last two weeks we have certainly played some very exciting football.

However the young team still has a lot to learn we have also encountered injuries which means changes within the squad against Fremantle. Jordon Claxton picked up 4 yellow cards Joshua Smith on holiday David Adupa is still out with an ankle injury and Jacob Smith out with his back.

So that means Aiden Costavino comes in to the squad and Mitchell Holyoak is back from his two week banned and Yunus Atak is back as well.

As the game started we are still finding it difficult to settle into the game early hence silly mistakes are being made which regularly costs an early goal against us 1-0 at half time.

As the second half started we are quick to get in the game great football but against the run of play Fremantle score. 0-2. within 5 mins jack Clare has played a through ball to Aiden who struck the ball first time 1-2.

Lads are still in the game and playing great football .the lads in the mid field are working hard setting up the boys up front. Adriano playing well the back 4 are winning every thing and working well together. The final whistle blows 1-2.

We would like to say to the lads to be 1 nil down and nearly come back and win the game.

This takes hard work and discipline and total team effort well done. (Lee and James & Dion).

Team Adriano, James, Callum, Mitchell, Andrew, Craig, Aaron, Jack, Jack, Scott, Aiden, Kieron, Yunus, Jordon, Jacob, David, Joshua.

GCFC v Morley Windmills - Saturday, 26th June 2010

Gosnells travelled to Morley on Saturday to see if the boys can make it two wins in a row.

After last weeks performance against Wanneroo the boys were out standing with a 3-0 victory. Goals by Scott Pereira, Joshua Smith, Craig Van Moosdyk.

Boy's started of brilliant again. Gosnells opened the scoring with Scott Pereira scoring with a great header. That's two goals in two games. Then Jack Clare scored with a header 2-0 then Aaron Coslani with a header that made 3-0. That's unbelievable...we have scored 3 goals with all heads... never been done before. Then just before half time we have scored again, guess who Scott Pereira 4-0 half time whistle blows.

Boys come out to start the second half Morley get a quick goal 4-1. Lads play well passing the ball and keeping possession. Then we play a ball down the left wing, Craig cuts in only to pick out Jo Claxton what's Jo doing up there who cares well done 5-1.

Morley kicks off. Ball has gone in to the box striker hits the ball past the advanced Adriano who has just got a hand to it 5-2. Just as you think it's all over the ball has been played in to the Morley penalty box Kieron Peters hits a great shot at the Keeper who saves it but guess who has pounced on the loose ball....Scott Pereira. That's a hat trick final score 6-2 (4 goals in two games well done).

We'd just like to say well done, that was a great performance in the past two weeks to the keeper Adriano to the defence Callum, James, Andrew Jo, to the midfield Craig, Aaron, Jack.R, Jack.C, and the forward Scott, Joshua, and Kieron.

GCFC v Morley Windmills - Saturday, 3rd April 2010

Welcome all members and supporters to the first home game of the 2010 season. Today's encounter involves a tough first test against Morley Windmills, which will be an exciting and entertaining prospect for all to witness. It seems all are eager to see how our young side has progressed during the long and hard pre-season they have endured.

Report:

The game stared with high velocity and plenty of chances as it had promised, with Jacob Smith and Dave Adupa leading the attack and coming close within the first 20mins, Gosnells looked the more dangerous side. Morley seemed slow going forward and couldn't quite find the right pass, but what they did have was a solid defense which kept a firey Gosnells at bay.

In the 44th minute Morley broke free of the Gosnells defense, to slot home a 1-nil advantage before the half time break.

The second half started just as well as the first, with Gosnells having much of the possession and coming close without reward. One of the best chances of the 2nd half came on the 70th minute when Andrew Marshall found himself free inside the Gosnells half. He had time and space to run at the Morley defense and spent no time delaying the attack, with no pressure coming his way he seized an opportunity to have a go at goal, from 45 yards Marsh struck the ball and emphatically finished to equalize. City 1 - Windmills 1.

Clacka and Ellis decided it was time for a change and try to push for the winning goal, Scott Pereia on for Jack Riddell, Callum Upton on for Yunus Atak and Kieron Peters on for Joshua Smith.

With 2 minutes to play Adupa found himself with a great opportunity to seal the game. With the ball on the right, he crossed it into the box for Mitch Holyoak to collect and clinically finish into the Morley net. The referee blew his whistle a minute after the reset for a dramatic finish to an accelerating game.

Clacka and Ellis were delighted with the boy's performance and a great start to the season.

"As coaches it has been pleasing to watch the players give nothing but 100% throughout the pre-season training and as a result they've been rewarded with a great start to the season". Ellis with the comments.
